We developed the CowPony Playdays as a way to have fun and as we say “chase” cattle.

2009 was the first year we put on a few at our arena, it turned out to be really fun and everyone had a great time. We are here to have fun with your family and horses.

The CowPony Playdays are about how you can control your horse.

We have decided to have a practice day once a month where anyone can come out to work their horse and learn what to do. Then we will designate another weekend to via for the CowPony Playday Buckle. 

 

Buckles Series: Must attend 5 of the 6 to qualify for Buckle

High Point in Each Age group wins buckles at end of Series

$12 per day to compete for Buckle

There will be 50% payback at each Playday in Buckle Series

For every 5 participants in each Division will pay one place

Example:  5 participant equals $60x 50% Payback = $30 to First Place

 

Rainy Days will be made up at end of Series.

 

The events are parts of the working cow horse competition broke down

and each event is timed not judged.

 

There are three events:

Circling (2 circles one direction determined day of Event)

Fence Work (turning one calf down the fence 3 times)

Cutting (go into herd and bring one calf between ribbons)

 

Every CowPony event has a 2 minute time limit.

 

The age groups are broke down into two categories:

Juniors (16 and under)

Seniors (17 and over)

 

We will also have a Jackpot Ranch Sorting after Practice days and Playdays.

$20 per team

There will be 50% payback
