Cantankerous Doc Stud Feb. 23, 2008 Sire: Freckles Meradalena Dam: Kinglike Lena Sold, Thank Mrs. Ritter. I would like people to know just how awsome he is. I really can't say enough about his disposition and gentleness. I haven't worked with him a whole lot but everything I have done with him has been a breeze. He is almost more like a dog than a horse. He will follow me anywhere, even up on my front porch. I really haven't found anything I can't do with him. I took him on his first "outing" last weekend. My friend took her horse to the fun show and I took Tank along to get some exposure to the outside world. He was naturally frisky and excited at first, doing a little bucking but soon calmed down and acted like a gentleman. I still can't tell how big he's going to be. Right now he's around 13.3. He's in a lanky stage. He's either lanky and showing his ribs or he's filling out. Right now though the boy has some legs on him. They are only about an inch shorter than my 15.3 hand horse and he still has a good size growth plate. He doesn't look much like a "Tank" right now. Anyone would be lucky to have a son of Freckles and King Like Lena. I know I am. Thank you again for such a handsome, special boy. |

This was a letter I received from the owners of a 2008 colt and asked if I could share it with you guys Hi Melissa, Thought I would drop a line to give you an update on August. He has been and continues to be an absolute delight and joy. We have worked with him on everything from winter blankets, sheets, electric trimmers, baths, etc.., and I am not exaggerating when I say, not once did we have any issues. When we started him on the halter (about a week after we received him) it was as though he had been doing it all along. He loves human attention. In the evening after he is in his stall, I will go in and brush him down. When I go to leave he gets between me and the door as if saying please don't leave. When I start to walk away, he will nay and give a look that makes me melt. I think he is quite spoiled. But in a good way. He has never been aggressive nor done anything to this point that was out-of-control. I don't believe he ever will. It is just not in his make-up. I believe when it is time to start and ride him, it will be like another horse we have named Jay. Never an issue from the first day he was ridden. He is now an incredible barrel horse. I have enjoyed August more than any horse I have ever owned. His color has become heavily dappled and continues to darken. Running is one of his favorite things and trying to get the other horses to participate. You can call him and without hesitation, he will be there. I truly want to thank you for such a wonderful horse and the care you must take in breeding. When you told us what kind of horse he was going to be, it was taken with a grain of salt. I just took it at face value from the photos and his pedigree, that he may be a good horse. Please forgive me for that because you were exactly correct in what you were expecting of him. Athletic, very willing, and an absolute sound mind. There are so many breeders out there that will sell you anything and promise you the moon, swearing that there are none better. He is and will always be a great companion not to mention an incredible sport horse for Taylor. Thanks again—Foster’s |

“Lena” has had four very nice foals for us. She produces a foal with a head full of sense and a conformation that is awesome. She is a very good mare that has a foal every year and takes good care of it. We are just having to cut back on our broodmares. She is SOLD. She is wonderful. Level headed, sensible, low key and absolutely beautiful inside and out. The trainer was very complimentary of her as well. I could not ask for anything more. She is everything I could hope for!! She'll be 2 1/2 years old on October 27th. |

“Sugar” is just that. She is a very good horse. She is very smart and willing to please. She will look at cow, but does not know what to do with them. She was never worked on a cow until late 2010. We have been using her for turn back and some sorting. She has a wonderful stop and handles. She stands 14.3 and still growing. This mare is bred to cow. She is the same every time we get on her and she does not forget anything. Our daughter has started calling her “Suggy” and she just loves Anna to pet on her. Sold. Thanks. |
